About RenoLab

RenoLab is run by Darren Kearney, a master joiner and carpenter in Northern Ireland. Day to day he works in joinery and fitted furniture: measuring rooms, estimating, quoting jobs and ordering materials.

Why RenoLab exists

Most homeowners start a renovation with no idea what it should cost. They ring round for quotes, get prices thousands apart, and can't tell which is fair or what's been left out. Trades, meanwhile, spend evenings pricing jobs for people who were never going to go ahead.

RenoLab fixes the first part. Put in your room and it works out the materials, the labour and the order of work the way a tradesman would, using Northern Ireland prices. You get a realistic number, a shopping list and a plan before anyone comes out to quote.

How the prices are worked out

Every price comes from the same pricing engine: room size to quantities, quantities to materials, days to labour, plus a contingency. The sources and method are on How we price.

How RenoLab is paid

RenoLab is free for homeowners. If you choose to use a business we introduce you to, they may pay us a referral fee. Some shopping-list links are affiliate links. Neither ever changes your price.
