Price your renovation before a trade quotes you
RenoLab gives you a guide price for renovating a room in Northern Ireland. It works it out from the size of the room, the jobs you need doing and the finish you want. It's free, and you don't need to give us any personal details to get a price.
How it works
- Pick your room. A kitchen, bathroom, en-suite, bedroom, living room, hall, utility room or home office.
- Tell us the size. Choose small, medium or large, or put in your own measurements.
- Check the jobs. We tick the usual work for that room, like flooring, wall tiles, electrics or radiators. Untick anything you don't need.
- Say who's doing it. Do it yourself, get trades in, or mix the two job by job.
- Pick a finish. Budget, mid-range or premium. You see the price range for each before you choose.
What you get
- A price range, split into materials, trade labour and a bit spare for surprises.
- A shopping list with quantities, where to buy each item and what it costs. Copy it, or have it emailed to you so you have it with you in the shop.
- A job plan that sets out what to do in what order, roughly how long each stage takes and what it costs.
Doing it yourself?
If you're doing the work yourself, you mostly pay for materials. Some work, like electrics, needs a qualified trade. Where a job needs one, the price includes an electrician or plumber for those parts, so you can see the full cost up front.

Use the Quote Checker to see whether it's fair for the job, what it should include and what to ask the trade.
Free quotes from local trades
When you're ready, you can ask for quotes. If you agree, we send your job to up to 3 approved local businesses that cover your area and do that kind of work. They see the room size, the jobs and the finish you picked, so the conversation starts from your actual job instead of "how much for a kitchen?". It's free and there's no obligation.
A guide price, not a quote
RenoLab prices are estimates to help you plan. Real costs depend on your home, the products you choose and who does the work, so always get a written quote before work starts. See how we price. RenoLab is free for homeowners. We may earn a fee from businesses you choose to use, and it never changes your price.
